I love to teach!

Lecturing at conferences and grand rounds one of the best parts of my job.

Currently, my speaking comes in two flavors:

for all of the info on live speaking, keep scrolling down on this page. However, it has become more and more difficult to fly across the country as often as I did before the birth of my little boy. Hence, I have also started…

Tele-Grand Rounds

I have spent many hours working out a system to deliver grand rounds via conferencing software. This allows two way-interactivity, as well as the ability to show slides and video simultaneously. It is cheaper for residencies and better for the planet. Do we lose something by not having the event in-person? Of course, but not much. Computer Needs

Ideally, your computer for the conference will have Powerpoint 2010 or the Powerpoint 2010 viewer installed.

The latter is free software from Microsoft. If it is not installed, it would be wonderful if it could be placed on the computer before the conference.

It is available here:

Microsoft Powerpoint 2010 Viewer

I am happy to install this software the day of the event so long as you know the computer is not locked down, so that I can actually install software.

If this is impossible, just let me know and I will change the format of my presentation.

If the conference computer is > 3 years old, please let me know so that I can downgrade my videos or bring my own laptop.

It would be ideal if the computers audio is hooked into the rooms sound system, this is not essential.

If your computer is workable, then I will bring my presentation on a usb thumb drive with internet back-up.

A/V Stuff

I prefer to have a microphone available. If this is not possible, I will adapt, but it will hurt the presentation in larger rooms.

If it is an option, I prefer a lavaliere-style wireless microphone to allow movement.

I do not need a laser pointer or slide advancement remote, as I bring my own.
